![]() , or Bayaz and co adventuring together, is irresistible. The three main storylines are woven together seamlessly. Plot: With the heavy lifting of getting the characters (some of them) together done in book 1, Abercrombie tightens the narrative. So, here's me gushing about the things Before they are Hanged excels in. It's a masterpiece, immaculately plotted, superbly paced, with enough breathing room for more outstanding characterization. Book 2, Before they are Hanged, though, has me less conflicted. ![]() It had the most impressive character work I'd seen since Asoiaf. As a plot driven reader, it was kind of a slog to get through, sort of like Abercrombie's "Once upon a time.In the Circle of the World." However, similar to the Tarantino film, I find myself frequently revisiting it. ![]() ![]() "The Blade Itself" dazzles me and frustrates me to no end. ![]()
